RMEmby 0 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Hi, When I tried to open Emby it said it was no longer valid. I have been trying to reinstall however when the USB comes up it just says no content on my tv. I deleted EMBY from the apps and power cycled the tv.
serpi 82 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 You have to make sure that you uninstall the old Emby version (in settings, apps, installed apps), not only removing it from the home screen. 1
RMEmby 0 Posted June 2, 2024 Author Posted June 2, 2024 I deleted the app from the app section and the link on the emby site to download the zip file still does not install on the tv

Every version expires 30 days after compiling and can't be reinstalled?

RMEmby 0 Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 I downloaded the version that's on the Samsung Smart tv link on the emby website. when I click the link it comes into my download folder as user widget. and I can see it says emby.tmg and widget.license. but when I plug the usb onto the tv, it says browse usb and I click the user widget folder and it comes up as "no content"
all4dom 101 Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 I've gotten that too. I formated my stick as ntfs, I think so i.was wondering if I should have formated fat. You might want to reformat your stick differently.... not sure if that would make a difference.
FrostByte 5392 Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Try that and the some of the troubleshooting steps in the usb pinned post. As a last resort I've seen some people who had to reset their hub in order to clear the problem.

I too am getting the validation period has expired, so the last time i installed a new version, do i have to install a newer version again? I dont want to reset the hub and have to login to all my apps again.

This is not an Emby requirement but is due to Samsung expiring the USB builds after 30 days. 1
FrostByte 5392 Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 You shouldn't have to reset the hub every time. Normally just going to Apps...Settings and then deleting the old version of Emby before plugging in the usb will do the trick. On rare occasions I've seen where that didn't work and people had to reset the hub to make their TV stop thinking there was a previous version already loaded. This needs to be done every 30 days though as Luke mentioned. 1
Rob_1969 13 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Thanks for your reply @Lukeand @FrostBytei will need to download and install the latest version then thanks for your advice 1 1
