Quick question why in Kodi does my TV Show Episodes show up like this.  Episode 9x21 shouldn’t the episode show up like the attached image

Don't expect a complex question (like this one is) can be answered on basis of a simple screenshot.

I assume you mean the next up episode is wrong? Why do you think that?

btw, this is not a next-gen feature. -> 3rd party plugin

Sorry if I wasn't  clear take a look at this screenshot it's from the folder libraries in Kodi shouldn't this look like the next episode in the original screenshot and not 1x01

Confused... Are you talking about the label (format) or about the episode "order"?

Labels depends on the plugins -> How they present the information.

I am talking about the label format shouldn't it be displayed like the first screenshot and not 1x02. should be displaying like this S01E01 - Beverly Hills Assault

Short answer, that's up to the plugin devs (how they present the information). There is no "standard".
