R0oF! 1 Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Hi @all, I found a few topics in the forum, but sadly I'm not able to get my emby theater to work. When I start the application it's just stuck at the splashscreen. If its the first time, it asks for the cec-driver, but thats it. I used theater a few years ago, but lost it out of my eyes. But after I have a relatively bad sound with my new soundbar (if I compare the emby webplayer with vlc), I wanted to test theater again. But I'm unable to get it running. Here is my situation: I got an Emby (Premiere) Server, currently version 4.8.8.0. I got a few old mini-pcs with Windows 10 (22H2, 19045.4412 x64) with Intel HD Graphics 4600 / Intel HD Graphics 615. I already read a few tips here, therefore I freshly installed my windows, updated all drivers, disabled ipv6, set my resolution to 1920x1080, set the "EnableDebugLevelLogging" to true, installed all c++ runtimes i could find, downloaded the theater zip from github directly, checked the windows eventlog, but found nothing. emby theater won't load. Here is the logfile from "C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\logs" 2024-05-31 21:03:06.777 Info Main: Application path: C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\Emby.Theater.exe 2024-05-31 21:03:06.781 Info Main: Emby Command line: C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\Emby.Theater.exe Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.19045.0 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: False User Interactive: True Processor count: 4 Program data path: C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater Application directory: C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system 2024-05-31 21:03:06.866 Info Main: C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\x64\electron\electron.exe "C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\electronapp" "C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\electron" "C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\cec\cec-client.x64.exe" "C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\x64\mpv\mpv.exe" 2024-05-31 21:03:08.084 Info App: Application version: 3.0.20.0 2024-05-31 21:03:08.135 Info App: Application configuration: {"EnableDebugLevelLogging":true,"EnableAutoUpdate":true,"LogFileRetentionDays":3,"RunAtStartup":false,"IsStartupWizardCompleted":false} 2024-05-31 21:03:08.142 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Model, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null 2024-05-31 21:03:08.142 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Common, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null 2024-05-31 21:03:08.144 Info App: Loading Emby.Theater, Version=3.0.20.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null 2024-05-31 21:03:08.207 Info Main: HDMI CEC driver already installed. 2024-05-31 21:03:08.503 Debug JsonSerializer: Deserializing file C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\config\ScheduledTasks\632fcf91-ac94-bbb1-f337-def8f56c4c5c.js 2024-05-31 21:03:08.516 Debug JsonSerializer: Deserializing file C:\Users\R0oF!\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\ScheduledTasks\632fcf91-ac94-bbb1-f337-def8f56c4c5c.js 2024-05-31 21:03:08.600 Info App: Core startup complete 2024-05-31 21:03:11.584 Info TaskManager: StartupTrigger fired for task: Check for application updates 2024-05-31 21:03:11.587 Info TaskManager: Queueing task SystemUpdateTask 2024-05-31 21:03:11.600 Info TaskManager: Executing Check for application updates 2024-05-31 21:03:11.733 Info HttpClient: HttpClientManager GET: https://api.github.com/repos/MediaBrowser/Emby.Theater.Windows/releases 2024-05-31 21:03:12.659 Debug App: No application update available. 2024-05-31 21:03:12.663 Info TaskManager: Check for application updates Completed after 0 minute(s) and 1 seconds 2024-05-31 21:03:12.685 Info TaskManager: ExecuteQueuedTasks 2024-05-31 21:06:51.411 Info App: Disposing ApplicationHost 2024-05-31 21:06:51.411 Info App: Disposing TaskManager 2024-05-31 21:06:51.413 Info App: Disposing InstallationManager 2024-05-31 21:06:51.414 Info Main: Releasing mutex 2024-05-31 21:06:51.414 Info Main: Mutex released 2024-05-31 21:06:51.414 Info Main: Mutex released Maybe anyone has got an idea what I could do. R0oF! 1 Posted June 1, 2024 Author Posted June 1, 2024 Yes, of course. I also tried the hardware acceleration but without luck.

R0oF! 1 Posted June 1, 2024 Author Posted June 1, 2024 Sorry, in another thread you suggested to disable the hardware acceleration. I'm not 100% sure anymore where this option was, but you had to go to line 6xx and remove or add the comment //. Bot variants, with commented in or out, ot doesn't work.
R0oF! 1 Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 Hey Luke, sorry for the late reply: I was talking about C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\electronapp\main.js Line 744-749: else if (process.platform === 'win32') { //app.disableHardwareAcceleration(); //app.commandLine.appendSwitch('high-dpi-support', 'true'); //app.commandLine.appendSwitch('force-device-scale-factor', '1'); }

Luke 42077 Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Does any window come up at all? Do you have instances of electron.exe running?
R0oF! 1 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 (edited) As I wrote in the initial post: When I start the application it's just stuck at the splashscreen. When I start Emby i got 3 instances of electron running and one instance of emby. thats how the splayscreen looks: seamless and it stays like this forever. Edited July 7, 2024 by R0oF!

I tried the UWP and it loads, but it has the same sound-output as if I run the webapplication via browser. So yes, this app works, but sadly won't change anything my problems with the sound

Hi, can you reboot the machine and try again? Are you still having this issue?
R0oF! 1 Posted July 15, 2024 Author Posted July 15, 2024 Of course I rebootet the maschine, I also did a clean install of Windows 10 22H2. Drivers, Windows-Updates are up2date, same error.

If you open this file and edit these two lines: var enableDevTools = false; var enableDevToolsOnStartup = false; set them both to true, then start theater and it will have a debug console. The debug console should show some kind of error. Thanks.

R0oF! 1 Posted July 17, 2024 Author Posted July 17, 2024 Thanks for the fast response, but sadly that didn't worked. I uninstalled emby via the control center and manually removed the folders in appdata tv.emby.media-1721248707718.log

R0oF! 1 Posted July 17, 2024 Author Posted July 17, 2024 Nope, no vpn, no proxy. I tried to manually access the "faulty" url https://tv.emby.media/modules/alameda/alameda.js via firefox which works fine.
Luke 42077 Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Are you able to use the hosted web app in the browser? http://app.emby.media
R0oF! 1 Posted July 20, 2024 Author Posted July 20, 2024 Yes, I'm able to use the webapp. Short question: am I able to edit the sound settings in emby theater? Because this is the only reason I want to use it.

R0oF! 1 Posted July 20, 2024 Author Posted July 20, 2024 Mhmm.. I sadly run out of ideas to get theater running..
Luke 42077 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 We have a new windows app coming soon so stay tuned for that.
