Hi, yea I think the real question is how they got there. But I would think you could use the delete function on one of them.

Right but one is kids movies and the is not.  So I have both Collections but they are the same name per provider and Emby only creates one collection folder for both and sort of mixes metadata.

Looking at it from item level

	<LocalTitle>The Reef 2: High Tide</LocalTitle>

	<set
		tmdbcolid="205029">
		<name>The Reef Collection</name>
	</set>

and

	<LocalTitle>The Reef</LocalTitle>

	<set
		tmdbcolid="797576">
		<name>The Reef Collection</name>
	</set>

I am guessing one would have to manually edit so there would be a custom name to create additional collection folder.

Or modifing via TMDB as there are two with same name.

But I removed and readded and now only one shows but since items have different ids only one collection is available.  So metadata gets mixed and one is completely lost.

ok yea i guess the only way around this mixing in the folder is to put the provider id in the folder name.

Yes that would work but suspect it is a real edge case and will likely change this example in TMDB unless the discussion there says differently.

This bug/issue is one reason that forced me to stop using the "automatic collections" feature. (I also detested what was considered "collections" and what was not.)

I wonder what would happen if you renamed the misbehaving collection. I remember fixing at least one problem like this with renaming but that was quite a while ago. I consider collections a very minor feature since Emby never enabled a "Show collections and the contents at the same time" feature.

I only use collections now for the rare movie that I do not remember its name but know what collection it is in.

I overcome the grouping problem by using the sort title.

Oh wait, the answer is in the nfo snippets above. Two different movie db collection id's. So not really an Emby defect if that's the data coming from MovieDb. It just needs to be fixed up manually afterwards.

Yes and no as Emby cannot display this correctly as there is only one folder in Collections.  So per your previous comment only adding providerid to collections would work in this specific case.

But in the end I believe correcting this on TMDB is the correct answer.

Right putting the id in the folder would solve the metadata clash, but of course, you'd still have two collections due to the data coming from MovieDb.

True but the image would be self-explanatory.

We already have this sort of issue from years past. Look at how many times The Lord of the Rings has been done. Or the two Tooth Fairy movie series (again, one for kids, one horror).

True but with distinction on TMDB

But yes there are really only two option here.

Emby add providerid to Collection folder

or

Ensure TMDB has distinction between them.
