How to restore deleted playlist from backup?

Is it possible to restore a deleted playlist from backup? I expect it is in a backed up library.db file, but I'm not sure how to extract it. I do not want to overwrite any other data from the backup aside from the playlist.

I am not sure it is possible being user based now. 

Are you talking about deleted user created playlists or previous global playlists prior to 4.8?

There isn't really a way to extract a single playlist from a backup. If you tried to do that, the library scan would recognize it, but no user would have access to it given that playlists are user specific now.

What you could do is locate the m3u and put it in a folder in your music library. That's not a user-specific area, so that would work.

From Symfonium I was able to sync my deleted playlist back to the Emby server, so it is now recovered.

Thanks for the tip about the .m3u files on the filesystem. I've added them to my backup script so if any disappear in the future I'll be able to recover them.
