I am not certain where to post this, but using the web app when the overlay is visible and if using the emby windows app
the colors look like this:
image.thumb.png.492e721b78fdd06118da3340a3f13dae.png
not solid and noisy

When the overlay is gone the colors are solid and lessy noisy

these might not be the best pictures to showcase it
why is this happening? i have it on most of my video files that i notice it
If i use vlc media player or the default windows 11, i get the noisy and not solid black look

i think it is in the video file it self and that it supposed to look like this, but why is the web interface removing it? i kind of prefer the web interface because the noise can bother me quite a bit when playing media back

Hi, all I see are two really dark images here. What exactly are these intended to show?

@Lukemaybe this video is more clear, when the UI is visible everything is brighter and you see the video artifacts more
apps like windows app also show the video like the ui is visible but then always that it is brighter

the Emby .mov file seems to showcase it, for example seconds 8-11
It is inside the zip file so the forum does not automatically embed it

It is only on my PC, windows emby app, web app, vlc media player, windows media player
If i play the video back through the tv(which my pc is attached to) using android tv it looks good again, on my phones(android and ios) it looks fine again

as a question for the web app, is it possible to disable that media controls change the web app volume? because last time i set my volume to 0 from windows and the ui went with it, outside inside a different software i increased windows volume again and when i went back to emby to continue playing i had no volume because the web app was set to 0 ...

Hi. The easiest thing to do is just set the web app volume and then to 100 and then never touch it if you'd rather use the system volume.

I understand that part, but the problem is, i am playing something and i control my volume with the keys on my keyboard volume up/down for windows and the web browser also reacts to it, so both windows and the emby player respond, so i would need to go to the taskbar and then use the mouse to change the volume instead of using the volume keys on my keyboard

so, i never "touch" the interface of emby

What we can do is stop responding to volume keys in the web app.
