When you open the "Emby for Android" app on the Nvidia Shield and it prompts you for a PIN, you are presented with a line of numbers to select, allowing anyone to see you enter your PIN, which basically defeats the purpose of having one:

With a Peek-Proof prompt like below, you can safely enter your PIN regardless of anyone watching.  The circles are filled randomly with numbers 0-9.  Just choose the circle that has the digit that you're trying to type in, then move to the circle that contains the next digit.  It can be configured so that the numbers in the circle are static until you submit your PIN, or the numbers in the circle can be regenerated every time you choose a circle.

Honestly, far more applications should be using this design of PIN entry.

HI, yes something like this is certainly possible. Being able to enter from a smartphone I think would also be a good idea.

Following what FireTV and AndroidTV did is far quicker ? - just allocate numbers to set navigation buttons - 0=OK, 1=Left, 2=Right,3=Up,4=Down, Hamburger=Change to next 5 digits, 5=OK,6=Left etc.

Nobody is going to see you quickly use the remote to go Left,Left,Up,Down for example (1134).

For it's intended purpose, this is more than sufficient imo.

Just do something, anything...NOW! Using a pin is completely pointless in the current setup.

Hey, At least it's better than the xbone app.

For the last few months it's had the same pin promp, but it displays each entered digit in the 4 boxes; instead of being masked with '*'s...

I would assume every client will have its own display method issues.  No different then a full keyboard displayed on the Roku.  But do not know what is shown for PIN as my users are the single users.
