Davey's 37 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Yeah for now ill give Ugos a try, i hope for a native Emby package in the near future. Thanks @Blueskies278 1
Luke 42077 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 The latest information I have is that they're hoping to launch support for installable apps in March and that we'll be one of the first. Until then it will require rolling up your sleeves a little to get the debian package installed. 2

I will be on the lookout for this and if it works well i'll be getting lifetime Premiere for sure. Edited December 14, 2025 by Newman909 1 1
Tech127 20 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) Getting mine setup and going today. I'm old to emby but relatively new to linux so be gentle lol. CLI Deb install went perfectly. I can't add my media libraries though. I assume it's a permissions issue (this is where I struggle the most with nix) since "access is denied". I can see the /volume1/media directory in the Emby GUI, but nothing inside that directory. Are y'all accessing the libraries through SMB or directly? I'd prefer directly, but don't know how to do this. Pls help! PS: +1 on the native, @Luke. I think that will be awesome!! Edited January 22 by Tech127 1
Tech127 20 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Update: chmod -R 755 /media and it was now accessible Relocated all the emby working folders to the m.2 I added to the unas for apps, created a /apps/emby directory and subs for transcode, cache, metadata, etc then chown -R emby:emby emby and chmod 755 -R /apps/emby and everything seems happy now If this is incorrect, PLEASE advise. Thanks!! 1
Davey's 37 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Off topic;) I'm wondering if this is useful for Navidrome (see Mariushosting). I can't get it to work under Ugos; it doesn't read the contents of the specified folder. Thanks! @Tech127I'll try to implement this later.

Tech127 20 Posted Saturday at 04:46 AM Posted Saturday at 04:46 AM (edited) As a quick update, things are going VERY well. Fortunately I bought the dxp4800 plus late enough that it's still under the return window so I'm switching to a dxp4800 pro as we speak. That being said, before I install emby over there and move stuff, I have a m.2 in there for all the docker stuff, etc. When I install emby, can I point it to that drive so it isn't on the os drive or is that a bad idea? I like the idea of keeping stuff separate from the os drive, but I don't want to be too narcissistic lol (And yes, I know I can run it in docker, but I don't want unneeded layers in the middle) Edited Saturday at 04:48 AM by Tech127
somy 25 Posted Saturday at 08:25 AM Posted Saturday at 08:25 AM Hi, I’m considering to switch from Qnap to UGREEN 4800Pro, are you guys running UGOS Pro and happy with it?

I do install any app on the SSD for speed and power savings, I also have my user folders there. Quick access, low power consumption. The HDD on the other hand I only use for large media files I won't access all the time, that combined with active sleep mode option for the HDD makes it possible that the HDD in my Ugreen NAS are asleep 70-80% of the times, on some days even more. 26 minutes ago, somy said: Hi, I’m considering to switch from Qnap to UGREEN 4800Pro, are you guys running UGOS Pro and happy with it? Davey's 37 Posted Saturday at 09:09 AM Posted Saturday at 09:09 AM I'm considering running Proxmox on the dxp6800 to get started with Tdarr and Frigate, and possibly adding a low-profile graphics card in the near future. I'm also curious how Emby will perform in a Docker environment. I also want to see if I can swap the SSD on which UGOS is installed, so I can always boot into UGOS if I install the correct SSD.

Solution TDriver 53 Posted Saturday at 04:21 PM Author Solution Posted Saturday at 04:21 PM This should help some of you with the Emby installation https://github.com/Railsimulatornet/Emby-Telerising-EasyEPG-DockerPack-UGREEN-NAS

TDriver 53 Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM Author Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM (edited) @Jutsch80Yes, by the way, all of that is also covered in the 30-page installation and setup manual. Feel free to take a look, it answers a lot of questions. Edited Saturday at 06:29 PM by TDriver

I did read the manual, telerising installs nicely, I can enter all my data from Zattoo, it says everything is fine but I can't reach any of the streams
TDriver 53 Posted Saturday at 09:52 PM Author Posted Saturday at 09:52 PM Sorry, but without a detailed description of what you’re doing (and what exactly happens), it’s impossible to help you. Did you run a direct test from Telerising itself? If not, please do that first under WATCH TV. What exactly is failing? What settings did you configure? Are no streams working in Emby? Which device/NAS model are you using? Also, did you enable “Enable ‘.m3u8’/‘.mpd’ link Extension” in Telerising as described in the guide, and only then generate the M3U? Without clear screenshots and more details, there’s unfortunately no way to diagnose this properly.

Thank you so much, the issue has been solved already. 100% my fault because I overlooked that I had to set a custom IP path. 1
TDriver 53 Posted Saturday at 10:48 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:48 PM Great, I'm glad to hear that! Then I hope you enjoy the new Emby Telerising / EasyEPG package
