I think CBers was asking if you have the Emby Android TV (ATV) app installed

As others have said, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but no "recent" changes to the movie, as well as trying to exit and re-enter and lastly to change user and then return...but nothing solved it.

Try using the option from the Emby app instead of the Emby android tv app. They both support these channels so it might be confusing which is which. You might find it easier to uninstall the android tv app in order to test this. Thanks.

Well, partially.  It has implemented the "Play Next" channel content but not any of the custom channels.  However, as I mentioned previously, Google is phasing these out (probably because pretty much no one was using them since they are so hidden) so I'm not sure it is worth us spending the effort on trying to implement them in the standard app.

Even "Play Next" is starting to be somewhat hidden in newer versions of Google TV.

Agree here - there is plenty that needs your attention within the Universal App - this seems a low priority to me, maybe even agree to remove it as it's just something to cause potential support issues down the line ...

I only asked, as v3.3.97 is the version of the Universal Android app, not the ATV app, which is either v2.1.10 for Stable, or v2.1.12 for Beta.

No it doesn't work.

Uninstalled Emby TV and as you can see (screenshot) the channels no longer appear and therefore no iteration with Emby.

I also tried restarting the NVidia Shield Pro and entering Emby again but it doesn't solve the problem.

Therefore the iteration with the HOME of the Android TV only exists with the Emby Android TV App and not with the Android app.

Having installed Emby TV (2.1.14) again, the suggested channels (and not recent ones as someone wrote) are there (11 movies maximum), but as already said again and again the suggested channels remain like this, that is, they NEVER change

So PLS I hope the developer fixes the problem

Agree - I've never seen it either on the AndroidTV Home screen integration list...

If it has been developed, then it doesn't appear to work ...

It would be sufficient for the developer to insert a routine that every time, Emby TV accesses the server it reads the latest movies inserted.

I wonder if the development team will read this post and develop it...

Hi.  The problem is the app isn't always running.  So, when you first turn on your device and are on its home screen, the most up to date that information can be is from the last time you had the app open (without us developing some component that runs all the time).

Given this and the fact that Google is phasing these channels out for normal apps, I think it is more likely that we remove these custom channels from the TV app than try to re-develop them for the new one.

The standard app only integrates with the system Watch Next channel. For the next update, it will also have an optional Continue Watching section that you can enable.

ok - There appears to be conflicting views here ?

@ebrJust to confirm as I tested it yesterday on my Shield Pro - yes, the last users 'row' is Refreshed every time I switch users and then listed in the 'Suggestions' row.     So I guess the actual Refresh is done when you Authenticate.    So @Hispanico957- does the list Refresh if you logout and back in again - assuming you just have a single user ?

Yes rbjtech  infact when i unistall during test app Emby TV after login again the list of "Suggestions movie" change, but after this no more.

Therefore little development would be needed to make this work

Regarding your previous post I understand what you're saying, but I can confirm that being in the NVidia Sheild development and testing group, these channels will never be removed and/or disabled as apps like Netflix exploit it a lot and use it as a plus on Android TV. I therefore hope that you can rework it and improve it... thank you

Google has actually already removed them from newer versions of Google TV.  They have other methods available to "the big guys" that are partners with them.

..and pay them of course to be shown on the 'home screen'.   It's all about money these days... :(

I understand... Too bad there are hundreds of thousands of Android TV who won't have it and who use Emby... and an upgrade would be in order

Great new feature and thank you mate.

However, trying it quickly it seems to me that it suffers from an update problem similar to that of the recent Emby TVs.  Let me explain, I watch a movie and after 10 minutes I exit Emby and from the Android TV Home I see a film to continue watching but the last one is not present.

So I select one of the previous ones, I look at it briefly, I exit Emby and suddenly among those to continue looking at, the one I didn't see before in the list appears, as if it were an update problem.

I'll do some tests again... check it out too.  If it was an update problem, by solving it we can also solve the recent one...

Thank

Hispa

Yes, I have done more tests and unfortunately I have to confirm the bug I described above and that is, it updates the list of movies to continue watching only by entering one of the previous ones... otherwise the last one to watch does not appear

Currently the list only updates on app launch, so we need to add a few more conditions of when to update it.

Yes but "...the list only updates on app launch..." only the first time or logout/login
