I have a remote user who uses a 65' Hisense Roku TV and says that at RANDOM the video will freeze and the audio will still play. He does have the updated emby for roku. I don;t know if this is a ROKU TV issue or Roku in general. I do not have this issue at all on any of my rokus.

I have uploaded the logs..he was watching ATLAS from 11:47am to 1:40pm and says it happened several times..I don;t know if the logs will show anything.

It might be the way hardware transcoding is applied.

>>>>>>  Hardware Decoders for h264
        [X] VAAPI GeminiLake UHD Graphics 600 - H.264 (AVC)
        [X] QuickSync GeminiLake UHD Graphics 600 - H.264 (AVC)

>>>>>>  Hardware Encoders for h264
        [X] VAAPI GeminiLake UHD Graphics 600 - H.264 (AVC)
        [X] QuickSync GeminiLake UHD Graphics 600 - H.264 (AVC)

If move up QuickSync above VAAPI does it still have an issue?

Just just left click and hold then drag one above the other. Or just uncheck one of them to try the other. Quicksync works best with me and the Roku.

Hi.  How long do they wait with just the audio playing?  I'm wondering if maybe the whole thing stops eventually and it is just that the audio is slower to freeze up...

he says the video freezes but the audio still plays..then when the video unfreezes, the audio will go back a few seconds to re-sync the video..then it plays..its random

Okay, that sounds a lot like network bandwidth limitations.  Video is a lot larger than audio so sometimes the audio could continue while the video is hung up waiting.

i'd says yes, but ye says that the same video plays without freezing using plex... i asked dhim to watch a movie on the roku ultra to see if he gets the same results.

@speechlesI think you might have something there with the changing the decoders. So far no one has said anything to me...but i'll keep you posted. The one with the TV still has not informed me either yes /no if that is the solution..BUT..i have noticed my CPU usages has gone down

@speechlesGood News.. That seems to of been the trick. User has watched movies and tv shows with NO video freezing....

Thank you

Glad it is working for you but it could simply be that they have had a stable internet connection since the problem occurred.
