Issue with season level extras for TV shows

So, I don't know if this is how it's supposed to do extras at the season level for TV, but it's marking them all as "specials" and mixing them in with the actual episodes rather than putting them under the episodes as "extras" the way movies do. This is adding to the total episode count which I'm not a fan of, and making bonus features appear on the "next up" list. Also some of the bonus features are appearing before the episodes and some appear after the episodes, making it more difficult to navigate the seasons.

In terms of folder structure, I have the bonus features in a folder labeled "Featurettes" like I do with movies and those extras show up fine.

Well, except for Apollo 13 for some reason, that's another issue I'm having. The bonus features for Apollo 13 are showing up as separate movies in my movie library. Back to the Future Part III and The Matrix Resurrections did that as well, but I was able to fix those. No amount of "scan library files" and "refresh metadata" is fixing Apollo 13. I'm not sure why it's not reading the "Featurettes" folder correctly.

Anyway, if anyone has advice for me on how I can fix these issues, I'd appreciate it.

There's apparently no way to edit these posts, so I'll just say that the issue I was having with Apollo 13 has randomly fixed itself and the extras are now showing up properly.

However, my issue with the TV extras at the season level still persists. Is this just the way season level extras behaves or is there something else I can do to make it look and work better?

They are actively working on it. There really isn't a subset for Extras in TVDB which causes a problem. Typically I just do S00ESxx, the ES is the season number the extras are for, and start at 00 and go till they end. So extras for season one would be S00E100 and so on.

Do you still keep the extras in a folder within each season or do you then put all extras in a Specials folder outside of the seasons?

I do both pending on the amount per season. Some just have opening and ending, others have bonkers amount of stuff.

HI, can you show exact examples of your file and folder naming? Thanks.

Well, the folder structure is

D:/Username/TV/Show name/Season 1/Featurettes

And the file names were just whatever names of the bonus features. Though I followed Ranma's advice and added S00E101, S00E102, etc. in front of each feature. It still combines them with the episodes, adding to the total, but at least they all appear at the bottom after the episodes now.

If a future update can give each show and each season its own dedicated "Extras" section the way it works for movies, I'd appreciate it.

I will guess you are wanting Season something like this mockup

But with it being list view I see drawbacks no matter what scrolling to the bottom of 10 to a 1000+ episodes.

As for Show level I am assuming you want an additional row at Show/Series level under Seasons or episodes depending on view setting.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what I want. I think for episodes of a season, horizontal scrolling works pretty well.

I know there's been some contention about horizontal scrolling in collections not being good (and FWIW, I do think vertical scrolling for collections works better) but for episodes horizontal scrolling should be fine.

Though I think having the option to choose between horizontal and vertical scrolling makes the most sense, especially if you can choose per show (like maybe you choose what you want the default for TV shows to be, but then you can override the default for each show individually in case there's a show that's listed as one season with a hundred episodes or something).

Either way though, having a separate "extras" section after the episode list just looks cleaner in my opinion.
