JohnsLibrary 9 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 How does "Download" work? When I use the button, nothing gets downloaded.
Lessaj 467 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Tried on both Windows and Linux and it opens a save file dialogue for me where I can pick where to save the file and what to name it.
JohnsLibrary 9 Posted May 23, 2024 Author Posted May 23, 2024 Nothing visual happens at all. I've tried it on my WIN 10 PC and iPad and I don't find any downloaded files in Downloads or Emby directories. Under the Download section of the dashboard, a thumbnail shows the downloaded movie, but no associated media that is playable. In the Settings section of downloads, Enable Full SPeed Conversion is checked.
JohnsLibrary 9 Posted May 24, 2024 Author Posted May 24, 2024 So this mystery is partially solved. It seems that if you use the 3 little dots "...", there is a choice to "download" and "Download to" the files will download. What also happens in this case, is the files get downloaded to a directory hidden deep in the Users App Data Directory: C:\Users\john\AppData\Local\Packages\EmbyMedia.EmbyTheater_svmepx4c03f7m\LocalState\ In any case, since I now know how to download, at least I can now find them. Maybe someone can answer why Emby uses this odd directory as it's download target.
JohnsLibrary 9 Posted May 24, 2024 Author Posted May 24, 2024 Thank you jaycedk. The version at that link you sent does not have a Download icon/button. However, the 3 little dots work and now I can see a dialog open to download to a specific location. So looks like the version in the Microsoft App Store I used was maybe out of date.
Neminem 1519 Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 I think it is out dated, but not sure, dev's will have to answer. Glad you got it working, enjoy
Lessaj 467 Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 That explains why I didn't see a download button like you do, I had to go into the 3 dot menu. I don't touch the MS Store even with a 39 1/2 foot pole. 1
