Looking into New TV's and the Samsung QN85BA is a Strong Contender

I'm looking into a large outdoor TV with high SDR Brightness to use on my back patio and this model has filtered to the top of my list.

It's been a while since I've used Samsung TV Tizen OS for Emby so I have a few questions coming from AndroidTV / GoogleTV which all my TV's either have natively or via MiBox s' or nVidia ShieldTV's.

Has an official app been released to the Samsung Store yet?

How does the interface compare with the AndroidTV app which I really like for the Emby Home Screen and the LiveTV Guide?

Does the Emby App take full advantage of the TV's advanced playback such as Atmos and HDR 10+?

The Hisense U7 and U8, both native AndroidTV / GoogleTV OS are in strong contention too.

HI, yes this is a great option, and yes there is an Emby app for it.

Is it in the app store now? I run betas for my server and Android TV and have for SamsungTV in the past but ended up giving those TV's to my adult kids when they moved out. Mind sharing a screengrab of the Interface, especially the home screen and the live TV guide?

My only comment would be around the ATMOS support. That depends on whether you are referring to lossless/TrueHD or lossy/EAC3/DD+.  As far as I’m aware, lossless TrueHD is not yet supported by the TV, so we can’t overcome it, but if it does become supported then it is something that we should also be able to support.

The simple answer is if the file will play correctly via a USB drive connected directly to the TV and using the TVs internal media player, then the Emby app should DirectPlay it in the same way.

What about using eARC?

Not that I'll go that elaborate outside but if I like it I may put one inside too.

I expect that current models all support eARC but it depends on what hardware/software decoders they have provided (which often comes down to licensing costs). Even when they do provide it, they don’t always make it available to 3rd party apps.
