Just4Jo 7 Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Hello everyone, I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with the Emby app on my iOS device, and I'm wondering if anyone else is encountering the same problem or has found a solution. Until recently, the app was working perfectly, but just a few days ago, after updating to either iOS 12.5.7 or Emby version 2.2.19, the app no longer launches properly. Whenever I try to open Emby, the logo appears briefly on the screen but then the app immediately crashes and closes. There are no error messages; it simply fails to stay open. Here are the specifics: Device: iPad Air (~2013) iOS Version: 12.5.7 Emby App Version: 2.2.19 This issue started right after the updates, so it seems likely that it's related to either the iOS upgrade or the app update. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on troubleshooting or fixes would be greatly appreciated. Also, if someone knows whether this is more likely an issue with iOS or with Emby, that insight would help me (and perhaps others) figure out the best course of action. It seems this issue might be more widespread given the recent updates. Hopefully, if it's a bug, the developers will address it soon. @pwhodgesI appreciate your suggestion about uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. I'm hesitant to use this solution right away due to the risk of losing all my Emby data. I plan to wait a bit longer for a response from the developers before taking that step. It's good to have it as a potential solution if no other fixes are provided, though. In the meantime, if anyone has any other troubleshooting suggestions or hears from the developers, please keep us updated. Thanks again for your input!

A32 19 Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 My issue was solved by deleting the app from my iPad, restarting and installing again. Like you, I was afraid that I’m going to lose some major settings and preferences but it didn’t. The only thing I noticed is that the sort order was back to the default and that was an easy fix. That’s my experience.

Hi Luke, mine is the other thread on this issue and just thought I'd add I'm getting the same issue on starting playback, but can now get past the splash screen. Mine is for both video and audio (mp4a)

SMTV91 15 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Hi everyone sorry to add to this late but I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app many times in my phone and I’m still getting playback errors. I fixed my emby connect log in error by not allowing the app to connect to other devices on my network. Unfortunately when trying to watch videos I get a “no compatible streams” error. I’m on the latest IOS for iPhone and emby 2.2.21. Any insight? Never had any issues with emby on iPhone before but this definitely started with the most recent update. 1
