So I tried simply uninstalling and reinstalling the app and had the same issue, do I need to clear out some stored data or something before I reinstall?

Can you provide a sample video for testing?

By sample video do you mean the video file that I am trying to play?

Yes - or any other video that shows the problem on the iPad but not on the iPhone when both running with the same emby user account and the same version of the Emby for iOS app

The smallest video file that exhibits the problem - please zip and upload externally and share a link

Also - could you get screenshots of the Emby for iOS app playback settings for both the iPad and the iPhone

@Riptide126and also please confirm which streams are being used (audio / subtitles etc) on the ipad and iphone - i see a lot of errors in the log relating to subtitles and failure to connect to https://www.addic7ed.com/ - but have not looked in detail to see if related

Waiting now for sample media file that reproduces the issue plus screenshots of the app playback settings and server side user and transcode settings

Appears to be similar to the issue being looked at here

I'll do some testing on this soon.

Going to keep correspondence in this thread moving forward to allow better tracking of the issue.

Here is a link, the playback settings are also included in the videos, the videos are labeled for which one is with the iphone and which is with the ipad

Did you make the actual Dune video file available to download and repro the issue?

The videos in the provided link just show the issue

Ok I will upload the dune video file when I get home today.

@Riptide126some good news here

 - could you try Emby for iOS 2.2.22 and see if that resolves the problem for you - if not, please upload the video and see if I can reproduce

Thanks @Riptide126for all the diagnostics that helped track down the problem whereby the Emby for iOS app was not sending in the request that would trigger a start of transcode.

And thanks for confirming that it is fixed in Emby for iOS version 2.2.22

Can you please mark the topic as resolved. Thanks
