Hi,

Any idea how this situation can happen when streaming remotely? Version 4.9.0.20 beta

This however is taking the mick! lol any idea why this is happening? I can see by the ip it is remote (and besides, I know they are 100 miles away)

Have perchance added there ip here?

Yea the server must think it’s a local connection. If that’s true then misconfigured network settings are the most likely cause.

Hi,

These are my configured networks and the ip in question began with 90

Very strange!

OK,

I have some info which may help with this.

My parents continue watching/next up screen was cluttered and with my Dad being 90 it was easier to clear this for him so I logged onto his account locally, did the clean up and logged out again but it seems Emby thinks that account is local now? so when they are using their firestick remotely it is ignoring the streaming limits?

Perhaps it's time too :

Please tell us the time (in logs) when this happens... (and has everything been rebooted? (server, client(get your dad to unplug the USB power supply), both routers and/or modems on both ends)?

Edit: are you using a reverse proxy??

Yes, all the reboots were done last night but have not tested since.  I am not using a reverse proxy, just a docker in bridge mode on unraid.

I will test again tonight 🙂

HI, yes that this point if the issue persists then we'll need to look at a specific example with the corresponding emby server log. thanks.

Hi,

Been 4-5 days and still the remote user bryde4 is streaming above the restricted limit?  The server & clients have been rebooted.

All other users are fine but I had logged into the local emby server as bryde4 to do some tidying up for them but for some reason emby thinks the remote connection is local, even though in the dashboard it is showing as a remote connection?

Logs attached 🙂

Do you use a reverse proxy?

no, just standard network

OK, I would try blanking out the lan networks option and then see how things compare.

Have you checked their user account limit to make sure it's not overriding the server global limit?

Something is overwriting the streaming limit ?

I would add 3000000 to the user limit as well and try that to reset it ?

Hi,

Not had a chance to look at this but still having issues unfortunately,

This is the current situation as my parents are watching now despite manually setting the user to 3mb/s

image.png.07cfd7700ab0337cc092e2fdedfd106c.png

I have manually set their user to 3mb/s (pic below)

Emby Global settings are also set to 3 (pic below) all other users obey this global setting so any idea how I can fix this?

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Hi,

I can do but I will have to go down to my parents to do this for them as they are late 80's & early 90's  Believe me, 200 mile round trip is easier than trying to explain that over the phone!

They are on a firestick "Emby For Android V3.382"  installed from the Amazon App Store, I can only recall seeing one version?
