rb9999 6 Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 I have a lot of issues playing back content while it is still recording. Particularly when skipping forward through commercials. After the program is finished recording and i play back and slip, i dont seem to have issues, My setup: Emby Server 4.8.7.0 running in Docker on a Synology DS 220+ Emby app (I am not home now and i dont know app version but i have auto update on. Ill edit this with version when i can get to my unit) running on an Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro. Recordings are set to save on my Synology NAS and that folder is added as a Mixed Media Library. A lof times when this happens, the video goes back to the very beginning frame and freezes and its hit and miss if i can get it started again. If i leave the video playing and don't try to skip ahead then the video generally has no issues. This isnt the biggest issue in the world, but it prevents a great app from being the greatest app.
Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks! 1
Luke 42078 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.
rb9999 6 Posted May 23, 2024 Author Posted May 23, 2024 Ok. I downloaded that one. I will start using it to see of its better. Version is higher. Is this version maintained more than the Android TV one or are the versioning schemes just off?
rb9999 6 Posted May 23, 2024 Author Posted May 23, 2024 The regular version would not allow me to fast forward while a show was recording. The scrubber moved ahead as you pressed FF but when you released it, it didn't advance and jus played from where it was. After the show stopped recording, I was able to FF through it. In contrast, the Android TV version will allow me to FF while recording. I watched that for a bit after FF and it froze up and wasn't watchable at that point.

Thanks for reporting.
rb9999 6 Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 Also, the straight Android version doesnt have the playback correction option that the Android TV app has. I had the sound get out of sync and exited and went back in. Not a biggie but an inconvenience.
rb9999 6 Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 One more thing that I see as a bug. Many times, as I click into a program, the next screen is just the show screen and no episodes. It stays like this for about a minute and then I get "There was an error processing the request. Please try again later." Then I click home from that menu and go back in and it works.

rb9999 6 Posted June 1, 2024 Author Posted June 1, 2024 Sorry. Haven't been home much. If I see it happen again I will provide the details.

rb9999 6 Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 @Luke I had the playback freezing issue again and there was a toast popup message that said "Too Many Errors". I was trying to playback a recording while it was recording. I am going to PM you the log files. It happened slightly before 8:00am EST.
rb9999 6 Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 I had this happen again. While watching a show that is recording it keeps freezing and showing a still shot of the start of the recording. I sent logs in the app at 8:17am EST this morning. Sometimes the stream starts back and sometimes it doesnt.
