Green bar at top of screen and image ghosting

I've watched this video before, and it was fine.  This started last night.  You can see from the image that there is a green bar across the top of the image, and the image itself is ghosted.  This only happens on my roku client, and only with this video. It looks fine on my adroid emby app and windows app.  I hope you can help...  I've attached every log file I can think of as well as the output from mediainfo.videowithgreenbar.thumb.jpg.cc6b0126c7f69020d122d32134d5593b.jpg

looks like the same problem I had with one of my friends...which I'm not sure if is still happening. I never found a root cause, and it kind of fell by the wayside. By chance are you noticing it in h.265 content in particular? My thread on it here

It's only this one video, and it is not h.265.  It won't solve the problem, but I might just try re-ripping it and seeing what happens.

Can you uncheck DX11VA in your advanced hardware transcoding settings for decoding and see if it works with both decode/encode using quicksync?

The issue might be caused by different methods decoding and encoding the material.

Just tried running the video after unchecking DX11VA and restarting the server.  Unfortunately the problem persists.  I do appreciate the help as I am clueless.

I have kind of the same problem playing AVI container (not AV1 like you) with XVID on my Roku. The hardware encoder with QuickSync produces green all over the screen. I have to uncheck the quicksync hardware encoder and only software encode those or it will not play correctly.

You can try to change some settings inside the COG.  Once you click it the menu below opens up.

If you completely mess it up and nothing plays you can always "Reset to Default" at the bottom and save.

The bitrate mode and encoding profile limit are what I change at times.

Unchecking the h.264 hardware encoder seems to fix it.  But now that means essentially I've disabled hardware encoding for all videos?  Thank you for the help!

Yes. It means that ALL your videos will softwork encode, but still using hardware to decode frames. The heavy lifting of AV1 is the decoding.

@softworkzNot sure you've seen this. You may know a better cure for this condition than I do.

Let's start by looking at the output to see whether it's an issue on server or Roku side.

@jshanklesCan you please re-enable DX11VA and start playback.

Locate your transcoding-temp folder (C:\Users\jssha\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\transcoding-temp) and make sure it's empty.
When playback starts, grab a few (5) segments (.ts ending), zip them up and send me via PM.

Before, please check whether the issue happens at different resolutions. For this, please lower the "quality" setting to force downscaling.

Thanks
