How come emby changes "modification" attribute on filesystem

Hi,

recognized that whenever I look into seasons, without playback or editing anything,

emby changes the "modification" (Änderungsdatum) stamp.

Windows-Explorer

Synology - File-Explorer

Now I just go to the tvshow, using WebApp.

Recon I do not playback any episode or change any data, and go back to the main screen.

Now it says Clickbait was modified, even though there's no file stating a modification itself, nor any file in the subfolders.

No big deal, just curios.

Hi, maybe Synology is incrementing that when files get accessed? Emby is not continuously writing to them, I can say that much.

Hmm it's a possibilty, but I'm pretty sure this behaviour is kinda new.

I updated both systems that weekend:

Synology to  DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5

and Emby to 4.8.6.0

So maybe it's really the synology.

No, I tried the web app, web client, Samsung, and Android apps and none of them changed the last modified date of any of my files by just browsing.

Same version of DSM, but Emby is 4.9 server.

Eigeplackter maybe it was modified by TMM?  Looking at the pics posted above I noticed TMM had been run today (delete folder was modified).

I ran TMM prior to the "test", there was no more TMM process while I did that.

So as Frostbyte has no problem with the excat same DSM version, and this behaviour seems new, I'd put my money on 4.8.6.0

Another plugin is the mediainfo one if you have it.  It will actually update your mkv files by modifying the headers.

From your log, there is no evidence of the core Emby Server doing anything with your files.

Having said that, you've got a large number of plugins installed that weren't built by the Emby Team, and so therefore, we have no idea what they might be doing, so I can't vouch for them.
