Jack Burton 98 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 (edited) I'm gonna use Battlestar Galactica (2003) and the new Doctor Who for this example. I prefer TMDB metadata overall so I have that set as my primary scraper for shows and movies. However, I want to use TVDB's count for Battlestar if possible. I want the miniseries (2 eps) to be specials, like TVDB, but TMDB has the mini series as it's own series. Is there a way to assign which scraper to use on a per show basis? Another example is the new Doctor Who. TMDB has the new season as it's own series, starting with season 1 (as per the official count), but TVDB has the new season as season 14. If I wanted to have Battlestar's miniseries as specials, I would have to use TVDB as my primary scraper. However this would then make the new Doctor Who season as season 14, not season 1 of a new series. I was thinking I could use the TVDB id and lock the metadata, but there's no identify option on episodes, and identifying with the TVDB id for the series kind of works, but the specials are the wrong id. Edit: I have kept TMDB and manually changed the metadata for the Battlestar miniseries and locked it, it's mostly good now. This would be a huge pain to do though if it was more than 2 episodes to edit. Edited May 11, 2024 by Jack Burton
GrimReaper 4741 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Not really sure what you're asking for here, is this a Feature Request or looking for suggestions for a particular scenario? Anyway, two recent related topics that might shed some light:

Anyway, two recent related topics that might shed some light: Not sure if it's a feature request or if I just can't see the option. Basically I want one show to use TVDB metadata and another to use TMDB metadata. I saw the second post you mentioned which is why I noticed Battlestar is messed up using TMDB.

No, currently there's no such per-TV-show option, it'd be a FR then. 12 minutes ago, Jack Burton said: Basically I want one show to use TVDB metadata and another to use TMDB metadata. For that, you'd have to rearrange preferred library providers and lock TV show/revert provider upon import, basically this: Edited May 11, 2024 by GrimReaper 1
Jack Burton 98 Posted May 11, 2024 Author Posted May 11, 2024 Right, I didn't think to revert, scan, lock, then revert back. That's a clever workaround. I thought about it but didn't want to have my whole library altered then altered back, which I suppose probably wouldn't do anything. I've gone through enough manual editing over the years I've developed an aversion to mass changes haha.

pwhodges 2012 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I would support this as a feature request. Paul
