oceanclub 12 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 In advance of a complete upgrade (and to save space in my C drive) I changed my configuration so that, rather than using C:\Users\{username]AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\metadata, Emby uses E:\Media\EmbyMetadata. One thing I'm confused about though is collections. In Emby > Server > Library > Collections, I turned on Save artwork into media folders. I thought that would save the images, and use the images, in E:\Media\EmbyMetadata\collections. However, it doesn't. Also, when I then added a new image to a collection, it doesn't appear under that folder either. Where are collection images supposed to be now? P.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Yes they should be saved in /metadata/collections example 2024-05-10 12:33:26.977 Debug ProviderManager: Saving image to A:\Emby-Server\metadata\collections\47 Meters Down Collection\poster.jpg So you would need to go over a specific example where this does not happen along with server log. oceanclub 12 Posted May 10, 2024 Author Posted May 10, 2024 Weirdly I'm seeing that - for example: Quote 2024-05-10 22:50:54.603 Debug ProviderManager: Saving image to E:\Media\EmbyMetadata\metadata\collections\MCU Phase 5\poster.png But the image isn't in that folder when I check (I'm looking for hidden files too). The log also contains the following line: Quote 2024-05-10 22:50:55.016 Debug ImageProcessor: Image encoding using Skia to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\cache\temp\4e82100f5df343eab782695b102d9123.webp took 26ms for E:\Media\EmbyMetadata\metadata\collections\MCU Phase 5\poster.png. Now moving to C:\Users\{username}\\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\cache\images\resized-images\f\fce6fd4e-f88f-74ad-ee00-932e886dc43c.webp Where I can see a resized image of the poster I just added.

oceanclub 12 Posted May 11, 2024 Author Posted May 11, 2024 OK but why does it remove the original image? This means, contrary to what the configuration says, my primary version of images are now stored under AppData, not alongside the movie files, and so would be destroyed in the event of a reinstall. How do I configure Emby to keep collection poster, fan art, etc, images, under E:\Media\EmbyMetadata? P.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 (edited) Should be just that setting. Have you toggles the setting off and on? May need to see a server log for a specific example. Edited May 11, 2024 by Happy2Play
