sa2000 674 Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Actually our support articles say 2Gb ram min when transcoding and not 1Gb or 512 Mb @appas https://emby.media/support/articles/System-Requirements.html Windows, Mac, Linux, or FreeBSD computer Minimum Requirements — no transcoding Intel Core 2 Duo processor 1.6 GHz or better At least 1GB RAM for Windows/Mac OS X At least 512MB RAM for Linux Windows: Vista or later OS X: MacOS 10.13 or later Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, CentOS or SuSE Linux Recommended Configuration — transcoding HD Content: Intel Core 2 Duo processor 2.4 GHz or better If transcoding for multiple devices, a faster CPU may be required At least 2GB RAM Windows: Vista or later OS X: MacOS 10.13 or later Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, CentOS or SuSE Linux 1
appas 3 Posted March 6, 2025 Author Posted March 6, 2025 It seems the problem was a simple lack of RAM. I added a swap file to my machine so that the total memory including swap is 2GB, and Emby seems to stay up, now. The only reason I didn't do this simple thing before was that I misremembered already having tried, but I guess not. So, now we could focus on the actual, functional problem I'm having with Emby: 1 1
