matrixserver 7 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 While this feature is super satisfying, I have noticed a issue, unless I am missing something. If you have a movie with multiple versions you only get one set of extracted images. Doesn't this negate the purpose of image chapter jumping? If I have the Theatrical and Directors cut of same movie, the chapters would not be the same, right? I could be way off but if the movie is not the same length chances are the chapters are not the same either. 1

If you want to keep everything seperate, then unmerge them and put into a collection (as the same name) as currently that is the only way to do this and maintain different artwork, chapters etc etc. 1
voodoo5_6k 29 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I wanted to post the very same because I just noticed this today by pure chance after having turned on the image extraction just recently (previously, I was using an external player for the emby client, and therefore, the whole thing would have been a waste of resources anyway). I was browsing through the chapters of Star Wars, and suddenly, I saw CGI Jabba of the Special Edition, although I was watching 4K77. I really like the chapter images, a great feature, but for multiple versions of e.g. a movie in a single folder (grouped together in emby), it's kind of sub-optimal. Is this something that would or could warrant a feature "request"?

voodoo5_6k 29 Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Just saw this for 4.9.0.25-beta on github: Improve chapter support with multi-version video Is this what I think it is? Wow! Hope it'll come to 4.8.x.x too... Thanks @Luke 1 1
voodoo5_6k 29 Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 After updating TrueNAS in the morning and checking on emby, I saw the update available flag. Upgraded to 4.9.1.0 and instantly had to check out the chapter handling for multi- version movies... Wow, finally... It seems to work exactly as one would hope for... Great work Thanks @Luke& team PS: I realize it's still flagged as beta, but that doesn't stop from enjoying the moment 1
