Luke 42077 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Question for you guys, how does it compare trying to do the same thing with the left and right keys as opposed to ff/rew?

When I press ff/reverse on the remote the UI appear and the time slider have the focus (the dot is present). If I go up then the CC icon get the focus. And if I go down the "Info" page appear. So the focus is on the time slider.
Luke 42077 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 OK as a test, can you see how it compares with a keyboard?
MikeB111 60 Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I just checked behavior on my HTPC. Pressing the right or left arrow skips forward 30 seconds or back 10 seconds (as per my setting). The dot on the slider is selected, and I can rapidly repeat pressing the right arrow button to skip forward quickly. This is the exact same behavior I see using the right and left arrow keys on an attached keyboard. The FF and RW buttons do the same, but only allow a single press until the OSD disappears. Again, focus is on the dot on the slider just like with the arrow buttons. But pressing FF again does nothing until the OSD times out.
denz 501 Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 It works exactly the same as using the remote left and right buttons.
Luke 42077 Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Have you tried holding down left/right or ff/rew to get it go continuously? Then from there tap left/right again to speed up to to 2x, 3x, 4x. You can seek really fast that way.

But holding down the FF/Rew button doesn't do this for me, I assume because of the issue of it taking only one press at a time until the OSD disappears.

The design is Apple TV inspired, so hold down left/right, let go. Then from there tap it again to increase to 2x, 3x, etc. Not sure what's going on yet with ff/rew but I'm guessing when mapped to the remote buttons some information is not being provided, e.g. whether it's a repeating press (holding it down), when the keyup occurred later (when you let go). Maybe we're depending more on that information then we were before.
