Gaurav6271 1 Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 (edited) There are some videos I play using emby server that have a pink/green hue to them. I have noticed the files in question are HEVC files. Utilising Emby server playback on LG TV as well as directly using google chrome (opening emby server and then playback from collection) on a windows 11 laptop No error messages encountered, the video plays fine but just with a green hue Please see attached screen shot of a show "shogun" where the hue being green for the water/sand is apparent and the helmet is pinkish Server logs (EMBY and ffmpeg) attached Other information: Running an Asustor AS5304T with 16GB RAM EMBY version 4.8.5 Video Format: HEVC Screenshot: ffmpeg-remux-a5ac17fc-a11c-4370-a488-8c3038f58f63_1.txt embyserver.txt Edited May 7, 2024 by Gaurav6271 Updated with all relevant information
Luke 42077 Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
RanmaCanada 494 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 This is typically caused by playing DolbyVision files on devices that do not support DolbyVision, or do not support the profile of the DolbyVision file. Noticed in your log that these are indeed DolbyVision files as noted by the DV in the filename. Can your TV support DV?
rbjtech 5284 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 (edited) TranscodeReasons=AudioCodecNotSupported As @RanmaCanada says above - This is a DV Profile 5 file - Emby does not transcode/tone map these DV5 profile files as is being forced to do so because the browser does not support EAC3. Unless the LG support DV, it will reject it because of that - the LG almost certainly supports EAC3. So unless you can direct play them, then it's best to avoid these DV5 file types. Use DV profile 8, HDR10 or HDR10Plus files only. Edited May 10, 2024 by rbjtech 1
