I have the same issue, deleting and reinstalling the app didn't fix it.  I thought emby was supposed to transcode video's?

The decision whether to transcode is quite complicated, depending on internal details of both the player and file, and also system and user settings.  Providing the logs from the attempt to play should enable the cause of the failure to be determined.
