wjcarpenter 9 Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 I'm running emby server in docker. The problem I am going to describe occurs on Google TV, Android phone, and web clients (both Chrome and Firefox on Ubuntu Linux). If I play a recording straight through, there is no problem with SRT subtitles. However, if I move around in the recording (for example, moving ahead via the chapters menu), the subtitles are playing for some different part of the video. The subtitles are behind the video, but not as if the subtitles has continued linearly without a jump. I first noticed this with the comskipper plugin (which does seeks to skip commercials), but I have reproduced it without EDL files. The problem does not occur when viewing embedded EIA 608 subtitles. Here are some server logs. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-directstream-c4444341-19bf-43c7-aa16-665b6bb3afcb_1.txt ffmpeg-directstream-e3d96537-5614-4db8-b58c-816c55cc95d7_1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 HI, are you still having an issue with this? Can you try Chrome for comparison purposes?
wjcarpenter 9 Posted May 23, 2024 Author Posted May 23, 2024 I haven't been using emby for a while. In addition to the Android clients, I did see the problem in Chrome and Firefox on Ubuntu Linux.
Luke 42077 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 @wjcarpentercan you give it a try again using the latest versions? Thanks !
wjcarpenter 9 Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 Well, drat. I can't repro this now, or, what I mean, I can't remember how I saw it earlier. I do know it was very easy to show it. I've just tried it with several recordings with SRTs and they all played fine with my jumping around. Unless this is something that somebody has actually been working on, I guess you can consider it case closed. FWIW: Version 4.8.5.0 Emby Server 4.8.7.0 is Available for.... 1
