FR: Please allow person in Games

Hi, I like manage my games (EMU, VN etc.) in Emby, the look and feel is great, especially I also have lots of Anime, and Games and Anime combine really well in the same server.

GameBrowser plugin is great in separating GameSystems, but has no support for using local metadata file. So recently I've already updated NfoMetadata plugin to be able to read from a local game.nfo file, which is also helpful to be able to use external scrappers.

But I've noticed that in Emby Games Metadata does not contain person information, such as game director, artists, writers, voice actors etc. Looking through decompiled source, it appears Game.SupportsPeople = false.

I'd like a way to modify this to true through an API of some sort in the plugin. If that's not possible then could you please change this in MediaBrowser.Controller.Entities.Game? change it to true.

I know Emby is not initially designed to work with games, but at least it works, and works great. So I'd like to contribute to the development of Game features to make it a great Game Management tool.

Hi Luke, while you are at it, could you please also add support for collections on Games.

It seems natural to me, game often comes in collections, Final Fantasy series, COD etc.

Right now I have to manually add a tag "Collection: Final Fantasy", in order to see all the games in the same collection. It would be better if Collections have a separate entry in the Game folder, just like movies and TVs.

Hey, probably that'S relevant for you. In another thread we got an updated version of the Nfo plugin that now gives game support.

I haven't tested with persons, you can see my example NFO a little above. But as it's the same NFO plugin I assume that it could work. I'm not sure if that version of the NFO plugin is already released on the official catalog or if it is only in the thread.

Was there any progress with this request? I agree that this would be an awesome thing to have. Also I know that a lot of game Metadata is also stored in imdb, which we already pull from for all other Metadata. It includes the typical Metadata we like in movies and shows as well! https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/ might be another option but more for the artwork side.

OK yea now that more and more games are starting to have actors, this would make sense.

I don't think I'm fully understanding the question. Is IMDB not a source? Or are you referencing something else?

If we're not able to pull meta. Could we have more access to update the meta on our ends? It gives an option to update people, but doesn't actually save that change.

Also Logo's don't show even if we include our own photo. Seems to be the only photo that doesn't work.

Sure thing. Got a picture of a game here along with the associated images. There's a logo image saved, but not loading

Did you enable the option in your display settings to show logo images in place of text titles?

Yup! This is the only library that i have this issue with so far.
