Bobby121418 17 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 (edited) Hi, Following my previous issue I reported in the link below: I tried to install the latest version 4.8.5.0, but had the same issue. That is once I start the service, it stops, saying manually stopped. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled the current version on Synology Package center, which is Installed version: 4.7.14.0-724071400 So, the question is why does this happen with the newer version? Another question is why is the latest version available on Synology Package Center still 4.7.14.0? Thanks Edited April 25, 2024 by Bobby121418
Bobby121418 17 Posted April 25, 2024 Author Posted April 25, 2024 This one from Emby download under Synology NAS and 64bit emby-server-synology72_4.8.5.0_x86_64.spk
Luke 42077 Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Quote Another question is why is the latest version available on Synology Package Center still 4.7.14.0? The store has a review process so it will always run a little behind.
Luke 42077 Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Quote So, I uninstalled and reinstalled the current version on Synology Package center, which is Hi, as we discussed in the other topic, when you uninstall / reinstall, if you intend to make a fresh start then you also need to delete the server data folder: Emby Server Data Folder
Bobby121418 17 Posted April 26, 2024 Author Posted April 26, 2024 Ok, thanks, I think I will wait until it appears in the store. 1
Bobby121418 17 Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 Following up on this topic again. I just updated to version 4.8.8.0-724080800 which appeared on Synology Package center official update and got the same error. That is the server stops after a few seconds saying manually stopped. Unfortunatly while on previous ocassions I could uninstall and install the older version via Package center, now I no longer have the option. Your help on getting server up again is appreciated.

Luke 42077 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 OK, that's progress. Where does it say manually stopped?
Bobby121418 17 Posted July 22, 2024 Author Posted July 22, 2024 Just below Emby server in Package center. Please see image above. Thanks
Bobby121418 17 Posted July 24, 2024 Author Posted July 24, 2024 Hi, Just wondering if there is any suggestions to thus puzzel? My guess is something changed between v4.7 and v4.8 in the way the Emby service starts up, because I have had this issue with every iteration of v4.8 and always had to go back to what was available on Synology Package center in terms of good v4.7 to get up and running. Any help is appreciated. The last option is to do a clean install with v4.8, however, based on previous experience when I deleted some folders to install afresh, it did not work and as said, had to go back to existing v4.7 Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 When it says manually stopped, is it possible that it's still running even though Package Center says that? Are you able to access the web interface?

Luke 42077 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 OK this is really odd. If you were ever wanting to make a fresh start, I bet you'd be fine on the latest 4.8 version.
Bobby121418 17 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 Do you mean uninstall and reinstall just Emby or something else? Thanks

Thanks No, I'm not suggesting that you do that. It's too disruptive. I am only speculating that the issue is related to the upgrade process, and likely wouldn't occur if you weren't upgrading.
