Sammy 790 Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 I'm considering this TV for my back patio and pool area. It says the OS is Linus TV. I've not heard of this before but it looks to have an app store. Is there an Emby App for it? https://www.walmart.com/ip/831026428
Luke 42077 Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 HI, I would say either Emby Theater Linux or the web app in fullscreen.
Lessaj 467 Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 (edited) I think advertising this TV as running Linux is a bit misleading, even if it's Android TV which does run a Linux kernel, but it says on the product page that other apps can't be added, and I doubt there's an emby app in their store, never even heard of it before. Would likely still need to use an external device. Deck Series outdoor smart tv uses Linux system with built-in Netrange app store, pre-install official genuine apps ( Netflix, youtube, Pandora HTML5 Twitter, Facebook, Accu weather, miracast Rx). Downloading other apps is not currently supported. Edited April 21, 2024 by Lessaj
Sammy 790 Posted April 21, 2024 Author Posted April 21, 2024 Thanks guys! I found out their more expensive TV's with 2,000 nits of brightness also come with GoogleTV OS. I'm putting these outside so really need the brighter display anyhow. Guess I'll have to cough up more dough!
