Hello all,

Here of late, I have found myself with an abundance of free time on my hands, and up to now I've been selfishly spending that time almost exclusively playing video games, but even that has grown tiresome so I started thinking of other ways I could occupy myself and the idea hit me one day while digging through old files on my computer, when I found a small collection of Icons I started developing years ago, but I never released publicly because of reasons not worth getting into, that I might like to revive the old project.

Then I thought about all the people in this community that have managed to keep my old projects alive, and wondered if after all this time, would there be any interest in a new style being developed?

I haven't used any kind of media manager (including emby) for a very long time so I don't really know what sort of styling is being used these days and if my old design would even fit in to the modern UI.

So that's where you come in, because I'd like to know if there would be any desire for a new set such as these, and if I were to pick up where I had left off building up this collection, will you guys even use them?

Here is a link to download the set so far, for you to play around with to determine if this something you'd enjoy and like to see more of. If you do load these up into emby, please share a screen shot so I too can see how they look in the modern UI!

My vision for this new collection is to use the highest quality images possible when creating the new disc's, and to try to not use true disc labels that are covered in badges and unwanted clutter. So these won't be an accurate representation of the  disc's in your IRL collections but instead a more aesthetic representation of what I think they should look like.

That's about all I have to say on the matter, so go try them out, see how they feel, and then come back and tell me all about it!

Well it seems I have my answer because after two weeks not a single person has chimed in.

So I'd say the nay's have the overwhelming majority vote via not saying anything at all.  (Unless this community has just become super quite in my absence, IDK)

Which is perfectly fine, as I'd rather brutal honesty that saved me from endless hours making something that would go largely unused.

So unless this picks up traction later down the road, I guess this one will get a pin put in it, for a possible revisit on future date.

Thanks for stopping by and checking things out!

Until next time,

Demon signing off, later guys!

Oh and hey EBR! Been a while. And it Seems it'll still be a while longer. 😛

You should convert them to either.

2000x3000

1000x1500

680x1000

The standard high quality image. I'm going to convert your pack you uploaded

Hello, apologies for the very delayed response, to answer your questions, as far as using these in emby goes, if the file system hasn't changed to much since I last used it then it should be as easy as renaming each image to folder.png and placing them in the matching movie folder. Emby should recache the images if you already have had basic jpg movie case images being used since it priorities png over jpg if both are available

As far as adding them to a skin for Kodi is concerned I don't have any issues with that, although the set is largely incomplete, so I don't know how helpful they'd actually be. Back when I posted this I didn't have a lot going on, but that has since changed and now I have very little free time so expanding the collection isn.t in the cards right now. Not for me at least. But if you have access to photoshop, then I could share the actions I made to mostly automate the creation of these. I say "mostly automate"  because there is some manual placements and hand alignments and image scaling required as the action is run and since there are so many posable different arrangements for the discs occasionally it would require manual adjusting of the perspective of the discs to accommodate fitting more discs in the icon than the preconfigured arrangements allow for.  . That said, I've still managed to streamline the creation to less than a few min per completed icon, but the real time consumer in the whole process is endless tracking down the images and such that are to be used for making the discs.  Not a lot I can do to make that any quicker.

I could easily make an option in the finalizing stage in the photoshop action that could output the additional image sizes if so desired.

If you do want me to share the work files with you just let me know and I'll see about getting them uploaded for you.

Yes please do upload it for me. I am familiar with Photoshop. I upload poster and fanart to TMBD The Movie Database.

2000x3000 - 1000x1500 - 680x1000 is just a standard artwork size.

Hey really sorry for leaving you hanging on this. I have reminded myself several times to check-in and then promptly forget again.

I do have unfortunate news in regards to my uploading my work files. I had to reset my windows installation a little while back and I tried to make backups of all my important program file, but somehow all of my Photoshop stuff didn't get copied.  Which was pretty devastating to say the least.

I do intend on recreating the action I previously made for these but I'm in the middle of moving right now and really can't say when I might have time to sit down and make the actions again.

Seriously hate I didn't just upload it when I posted last, but here we are. Again, really sorry.  I will get back around to this as soon as I can though, for sure.

Lol, sounds like stuff I end up doing. Really it's no problem. I have found myself creating artwork for movies on TMDB. I do still maintain my skin on Kodi (Titan Bingie Mod) so I understand and really no problem.

I hope your move goes well.
