Might be a little tricky as downgrading then restoring previous database should work. But platform might be problematic. If it were Windows I would just downgrade and copy db from backup and put in data folder overwriting existing db. Thanks. it is Synology NAS with Emby built-in app. Since I have no issue with the beta and not good with the unix command. I stick with beta. Please next time test the firmware before release it as a stable version.
ingmar_ehrig 1 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 (edited) A few days ago I encountered a smilar problem on my Nvidia Shield emby server: Adding new videos doesn't calculate movie length nor bit depth anymore. Also these new videos missing the data information can only be played back through the Nvidia Shield's emby client. Neither webinterface nor LG television emby app can play back these files. Since my emby server is quite new (migrated from Plex recently) and the then added video files are all correct the problem must have occured within the last maybe 4-6 weeks. Hi, so are you saying it only happened with videos from 4-6 weeks ago or is still happening now?

It still happens right now. Tested it last time yesterday with 1 movie, 3 documentations and some music videos. None of them showed it's playtime nor bit depth and none of these files are playable via emby on another device than the emby player on the shield (where also the emby server is running). Playback via windows pc direct from the hard disk works fine. 4-6 weeks marks the ca. beginning of this behaviour. All videos added before this date work fine and show all bits of data. I also restarted the emby server several times and also the NAS where the files are stored, but to no effect. Next thing would be to reinstall the emby server manually...

Probably need to see a server log after importing new media for a specific example and to see your server version. But sounds like a specific platform issue though.

All video addes within the last few weeks do lack the playtime and resolution information. Also a screen of the plugins - just in case. Server version is 4.8.10.0 on Nvidia Shield Pro 2019

I would say not the same issue as this topic and specific to Shield. 2024-12-03 21:38:26.603 Error FfmpegManager: ProcessRun 'ffmpeg -hide_banner -version' Error Output: CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE "/mnt/expand/91783923-164c-4544-8747-fc5cdce10e78/user/0/com.emby.embyserver/files/ffmpeg/ffmpeg": library "libnativehelper.so" not found: needed by /system/lib64/libmediandk.so in namespace (default) But will guess related to older topics and where Emby is installed.
ingmar_ehrig 1 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 This could be an issue... In deed is emby server installed on external memory. Ok, so I tried to move it back to the internal storage, but... it says, emby server is almost 7GB big! My internal storage has only 5GB left. So... what could be this big amount data on emby server? All files (movies, audio, images, folder and other image footage) is stored on my NAS. And I've never seen a database this big. Nonetheless I'm vacuuming the DB right now. just in case. Just to make sure: The 'Data' shown for the emby app on Android is the databse, right? Or is there any other data, which can be deleted? Btw... thanks alot so far for your support!

Most likely the /metadata folder but you could check the Transcode-Temp folder also. With only having that amount of limited space I will guess you will have to set custom /metadata and /transcode temp location via Library-Advanced tab and Transcoding pages. 1
ingmar_ehrig 1 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Soo... this was indeed the problem. Moved the emby server app back to the internal memory of the shield and it works again. Newly added videos now are calculated correctly again and are playable on all devices. So it didn't have any to do with a certain date as I thought. At least not regarding the software. Turns out that I moved my emby server installation to the expanded internal memory of my ssd at some time. But I have two other little things: 1. For Android exist 2 versions of emby client: Android and AndroidTV. The latter has lots of bugs and problems e.g. deleting media images every once in a while. There is no hint for what case or device which of these versions is optimized for. 2. After moving my emby server on shield back to internal memory I lose media folder pictures again and can't upload them again. The upload process just doesn't finish. First there was only one of 8 images missing. Now, two days later all 8 images are broken. And idea on this one? Thanks again for your help

Apologies for the confusion between the two. We are currently in a transition period between them. For #2, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks.
ingmar_ehrig 1 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 It's me again Seems there is a preoblem with access rights management. Opening emby server in the browser shows broken image for my main folders (movies, TV shows, music, audiobooks etc.). Looking for the broken path manually the page says "Access to the path '/mnt/expand/91783923-164c-4544-8747-fc5cdce10e78/user/0/com.emby.embyserver/files/metadata/library/c5/c515e9681a85402c8c7409eea2bc7e34' is denied." I suppose this to be a problem resulting in moving the emby server app back and forth from the extended internal memory to the original internal memory of the shield. So I think I have to grant access to whole thing for the emby ser app again manually. How can I set the path to be accessable through emby server? I only have a windows system (and the shield), so I think I can't do any sudo CHMOD777 operations or something like that. To make it clear: The SSD connected to my shield via USB is formatted and connected as an internal memory device, not an external data memory device. Any ideas?
