Apple TV Emby App Port Screen Issues

Follow-up: I was able to link an account to emby connect and log in that way using the pin number. But this only worked using the external domain so its a lot of extra traffic to leave the house just to come back into the house to watch something. Connecting locally to the local IP says it's unable to reach the server. I don't know if that is related or another issue. Should I open that on another post? @Luke@SamES

What do you mean by connecting locally to the IP? When you sign in with Emby Connect you don't really get to choose because it figures out which address to use. How did you do that?

Okay I got it working.

I setup an account on emby connect and logged into the server using the LOCAL ip/port on my pc. Initially I had logged in with emby connect using my external domain (im not sure why it didn't recognize the local server the first time). Then I went to the emby.media/pin page and entered the pin number which activated it on the device and it is connected locally now. I guess this is usable for now and was a way to bypass entering the port# on the tv itself lol.

Everything looks good within the app. Everything looks good now. Phew. That was a roller-coaster.
Also I just wanted to say @Luke@SamESI am sorry if I seemed frustrated/upset in my OP earlier. ADHD + Dealing with trying to create apple IDs for the devices today was driving me crazy & I'm just trying to get these things working on my day off lol.

By the way as far as what addresses Emby Connect will try to use, those are the ones displayed on the server dashboard. Are those correct?

@Luke Yepperz it is. So I guess this was a work around to make the port change without needing the interface. idk. I'm sure with a voice remote it would have been different, since i probably wouldn't even need the keypad. But I couldn't see spending all that for ATV boxes that i got for free.

In the future as updates and stuff come out I can try it again and see if anything improves on my end with these remotes on the app for that port screen. Feel free to message me here or DMs. I do check here often especially around update time.

@Zander3768I can now reproduce this.  It looks like the numberPad format is not behaving itself in the 'Grid' keyboard layout, so I'll have to change it to the full keypad layout.

In the meantime, you can follow these instructions to change the keypad to the 'line' layout which will resolve it for now for you.
