Server Won't Load in Emby Connect

I'm new at this so forgive me if this is something obvious, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out what's wrong here.

I've set up a server, and it runs fine on the host computer (i.e. the localhost link). I've managed to add the server to Emby Connect, but when I try to access it from any device (I've tested browsers both locally and at a different location, as well as iOS and Xbox app. And in every case, it comes up with this error.

The server is running, and I've gone through the firewall settings and everything appears to be allowed. I've also checked that it's http and not https, but that makes no difference.

Weirdly, when I try to do it on an Edge browser (assuming I'm using http not https) then it works. But since, for instance, the Xbox or iOS apps are not using http/https, I don't know why that shouldn't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, as a test, rather than using Emby Connect, what if you just add a new server and enter the server address manually? How does that compare?

Yeah that doesn't work either. I get the same error. I assume we're talking about entering the WAN address? I'm thinking about dedicating a domain and getting an SSL, do you think that would make a difference?

It's a good thing to do, but if the issue is connectivity then it won't necessarily resolve this.

Are you outside your local network?

Yes, so it works on the local network. It's only when outside my local network that I'm not able to get it to work.

Did you confirm the port is open from canyouseeme.org? Please provide screenshots of your port forwarding settings in your modem/router.

Doesn't look like it's able to see it. No port that I entered made a difference.

And I'm not really certain what you mean by the "port forwarding settings in your modem/router". How do I see those?
