darthweb 0 Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Hi I've got an emby server subscription and I'm looking to add an IPTV service. I'm based in the UK and I'm mainly interested in sports and would like something that covers SKY & TNT Sports in the stablest highest definition possible. I'll be running through and nVida Shield and have a 1Gb internet service all hard wired. Any recommendations please TIA
Shanefalk 9 Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 (edited) I run IPTV with a 1Gb line and it’s been smooth. I use IPTV UK for sports, and the streams stay in full HD without much buffering. Setup was simple with the M3U, and it works nicely alongside my Emby server. For mainly sports, it’s been reliable and worth it for me. Edited August 8, 2025 by Shanefalk

pwhodges 2012 Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 To be legal in the UK they must licence all the content they offer. Their website does not provide any information which would enable you to confirm that they are operating legally. In fact, I have not found any IPTV service in the UK which makes it clear that it is legal - which in a market with so much illegal content is not reassuring. Paul
G_i_z_m_o 0 Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 With Sky tv everything is a grey area even legal tv feels like your breaking the law in the UK as nothing is ever said to be legal. You can get a cable tv card and an HDhomerun and use that on Emby media server to record to your server but they don't even like people doing that in the UK. You can connect the basic UK channels to a TVheadend and also use Emby or cable tuner boxes and use the m3u from those in Emby. I use a tv box with the m3u
