herobucket 2 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I have Emby installed on a Synology DS420+. I have a Synology RT6600ax router. I have a VPN profile installed on the router. If I deactivate the VPN, then Emby is accessible to all the applicable devices on and off the network. If I activate the VPN, all the traffic from all the network devices correctly flows through the VPN, and Emby remains accessible to on-network devices, but off-network devices can't see Emby. Those off-network devices can see the DS420+ with Synology Quickconnect and can see the media through Plex, but Emby says Unable to Reach the DS420+.
Luke 42077 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 HI, maybe those devices need to connect to your Emby Server using a different remote address when the VPN is active?
herobucket 2 Posted April 5, 2024 Author Posted April 5, 2024 Any thoughts on how I might determine the correct address to look at? The address that shows up as the Remote (WAN) access IP in the Emby Dashboard is the same IP as shows up from my on-network computer on whatismyip.com.
