Proxmox checking GPU passthrough

I have Emby running in an lxc container, is there a way to check if my GPU is used? I've noticed lately i get tons of buffering issues so wondered what might cause this.

Hi, have you taken a look at the emby server dashboard while a transcode session is active?

A good way to know if your GPU is used by your Emby LXC:

First (in Proxmox):

Got to your Emby LXC node's console and type:

nvidia-smi

 

You should see the following:

 

Secondly (in a web browser):

 

1. Navigate to your Emby server
2. Go to Manage Emby Server (gear icon top right)
3. Then click on Transcoding from the left menu
4. You should see the following:

 

 If you don't see any of these then it is not passing through.

You have to set "Enable hardware acceleration when available" to Advanced to see all the Preferred Hardware Decoders options as well.
