Shield App play only One season.

Just for notice...

Recently noticed that Android  V. 2.1.10g  playing only one season of show. 

When last episode of season is played, it stops like show is done. Not offering "Start Now" or Play next". Acting like last episode of show.

Tested in original Emby app, works fine. So something wrong with app.

Hi.  I believe that is how it is designed in that app but, since you like how the standard app behaves, you can use that.

No it's started recently.  Before it's been working fine from season to season... . I have 2 Shields. On both acting same.

 

 P.s. why admins keep offering original app? I mentioned original app only to compare. I don't like original app, but that is different story.

Mostly it's about playback. In shield app by pressing UP, show chapters, here need to do more to get till chapters. For some shows i want to get till Intro chapter to skip beginning. 

Also all functions what in web browser. It's too many, like Download, Convert e.t.c. In app need minimum, just for playback. As admin user, can accidentally do something wrong, like delete something.

Can't replicate, but when I tested before creating this topic, was something wrong with sound. I have 5.1.2 sound, but it played for some reason in stereo 5.1 sound. 

 So need to simplify  your app. For me, it's just web page in app. 

 In app I want to only watch stuff. All administration jobs, converting downloading, e.t.c. in web browser.

Forgot to mention. Played s01e01 and started s01e02 and in middle of episode stopped, it returns to s01e01 instead of s01e02 what I been just watching.

@LukeYes, but why app need them? 

 For example, kids can use Emby and accidentally damage library. I using only one account at home as living on my own. 

Can leave only basic things like Android Tv app. 

From my point, App must be for watching. web page for editing info.

Why not have separate users for your kids?

@Luke Its only example, can be wife, friends e.t.c..  Mine is grown already and not living  with me... . 

 

 Original app I'm using for testing if something is wrong. 

As I old, its web page moved to app. Not comfortable to use it as have too many options.

 Recently been watching Dexter. It's have intro only at 3-4 minute, so wanted to skip beginning. In Android TV app, was able to jump in chapters easy by pressing only "UP". Here I need to go down, find chapter section, then find chapter. Too much wasted time.

Also been returning to wrong episode when stopped playing as mentioned before. I not always watching same episode at one.

Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? What makes you think that it's the wrong episode?

@LukeLooks this is fixed now.  It was returning to previous episode. 

 

Noticed also that it's not playing Virtual Tv channel. "Playback Error: Value cannot be null (Parameter 'key')

For me, main issues is chapters an no "stats for nerds" by holding OK button. 

It's simply not so comfortable as Android TV app. 

 Maybe need a dedicated topic for original app?

For this topic, found that some one made it on purpose to play only one season. Can revert it back to "play next episode automatically" ?

Not one season, but all show... .
