RanmaCanada 495 Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 I am having issues that just started today with an family member whose ancient Firestick keeps getting booted. Their firestick is so old that it does not support HEVC, so certain files are being transcoded. Starting today, their show will kick them out during playback, and when they go back into Emby, everything is black. They need to restart their firestick for Emby to work again. an example from the ffmpeg logs at the moment it craps out on them. 16:38:32.673 elapsed=00:06:53.39 frame=62823 fps=152 q=22.0 q=-1.0 size=N/A time=00:43:35.19 bitrate=N/A throttle=off speed=6.33x 16:38:32.769 [hevc_qsv @ 000001d4192394c0] A decode call did not consume any data: expect more data at input (-10) Last message repeated 2 times I believe I have included the correct ffmpeg logs. embyserver.7z ffmpeg-transcode-a8e61678-b0f9-441b-a771-206ff4cb87c8_1.7z
Luke 42078 Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 hi, can you have them try lowering their in-app quality setting and see if that helps?
jdfamily 0 Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 They are already being forced down to 3mbps because of their ancient firestick.

I can't understand this sentence, could you explain? But what I can say is that: On 3/24/2024 at 11:02 PM, RanmaCanada said: [hevc_qsv @ 000001d4192394c0] A decode call did not consume any data: expect more data at input (-10) ..is nothing unusual at the end of a file. At this time, it already has encoded 872 segments of 3s, makes 2616 seconds or 43.6 minutes, which is exactly the length of the video. In other words: It has just stopped after transcoding was finished.
RanmaCanada 495 Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 I got them to replace the firestick as it was too much of a hassle to deal with them complaining. 1
