mcerss 3 Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 Hello On Samsung tv even tho a subtitle is there and selected when you click play from the main show screen it doesn't show the correct sub. When you are playing the show and try to change the sub some of them are missing. Even tho on the shows main page you can see them. I am guessing it's a issues with the max number of subtitles in the play screen? It happens with a lot of subtitles embedded in a mkv files and on the browser and android version everything is ok. Just on Samsung tv. The file in question has 42 embedded subs and in the play screen it only shows 30. If you selected a sub from the show screen which it not in the 30 from the play screen it's defaults back to the first sub. I am running emby for Samsung 1.7.0 Is there a setting or something that we can change the max number of subtitles in the play screen? Thanks
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 Yes there are a couple topics on this and not entirely sure what method the dev is using to fix it. But will guess in next app update.   As same issue different list was recently fixed for Android. Â
Luke 42077 Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 Hi, this is resolved in the next update to Emby for Samsung. Thanks.

I'm so grateful to the entire Emby team and the Samsung app developers! I was hesitant to get a Samsung TV because of potential Emby installation issues, but it was incredibly easy to set up. The functionality and design even surpass the Android app. Thank you! Â Â 1 1

Luke 42077 Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 Yes, the USB install is up to 1.7.9 if you need immediate relief.
psychedelicu 3 Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 The auto update is on, why the app is not updating itself?
psychedelicu 3 Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Thanks, now is working! I put the file on usb and it upgraded itself. 1
fiolet 5 Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) Hi, I have Samsung S95C from 2023, I installed from USB version of emby 1.83.........and still have this subtitles issue. I can play video only with first 30 subtitles and bad luck Dark Matter 2024 from AppleTV shows polish language as 31st On my list all subttiles can be turn on up to Norwegian (which is number 30th on the list) and all languages after Norwegian...eg. polish, slovakian, swedish etc. can be marked, but then in the video there is no subtitle. May I ask to fix it? On my mobile Android I can play polish subtitles without any problems. Edited June 15, 2024 by fiolet

fiolet 5 Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Yes, of course, but nothing to see on screenshot, just when I pick polish subtitlesor any below polish, no subtitles displays.....and any language before polish display nornally. It's exactly like someone posted above, only first 30 languages can be displayed from built-in languages. Â
Luke 42077 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Are they all available on the detail screen prior to playback?
fiolet 5 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Yes, all 43 languages are visible and able to choose on prior screen. When I chose now portugese on prior screen and start play then english subtitles appeared (first on the subtitle list). When I checked subtitle on playback screen still portugese was marked, when I switched to polish then no subtitle displayed.

Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks! Â
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 @fioletDon't have Samsung TV so can't test why all the mapping beyond 30 is not working as you have already stated it works in other apps. I guess you can post a server log but suspect it is direct playing but devs might be able to see something in the requests. At the same time I am not sure the status of the episode as the title is unknown even though it appears to know media info. Guess I need to get a couple test item with these insane number of subtitles. Personally, never have more than a 1 or 2 in my files.
