KayDox64 1 Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 Attached video speaks for itself. the captions only work properly on the Iphone app. anyway to make them run on other devises is appreciated. Example is the intro to an anime i added for my brother in law, so thats why its weird as hell. why don't captions work well on other platforms.mp4
Luke 42077 Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
KayDox64 1 Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 Here are the logs. as for an example the video i attached is th e best i can give. embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 OK we'll take a look at this. The issue is that we usually render them client-side to avoid server transcoding. But rendering these subtitles client-side can also be taxing on the client device. Thanks.

That makes sense for most subtitles for normal playback. Maybe you could let server admins toggle witch shows render subtitles server side or client side?

Sure, it's just that for most, the resource consumption that this will require on the server will be too high.
