djerniehoule 23 Posted April 5, 2024 Author Posted April 5, 2024 How many times are you going to ask this? I've done everything that in the forum, but the instructions are all over the place. Let's work together to get a clear list of instructions...
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 I have some time this morning, so I am revisiting this topic. I think I got everything installed, but I am getting this error. Please see image
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 I now have this. I did the settings in Emby but still I get “unauthorized, client needs to authorize”
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Did you restart the Emby server after installing the certificate?
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 I haven't read this whole thread so bear with me... - You now have a cert installed and restarted Emby. - Can you connect to your server using https? - What ports are you using externally? I think Alexa needs 443. - Setup port forwarding on your router: port 443 -> 8920 on Emby server. - In Network settings on Emby server set the public https port number to 443. Only the public value. - You might have to check/redo the Alexa settings for Emby?
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 When adding domain to certificate in Dynu am I using "domain" or "Ipv4"?
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 I am able to connect to emby remotely, so that part is all good...
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 You don't need to do anything certificate related in Dynu. Are you talking about the TXT record validation?
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 I understand that, in ZeroSSl, which do I use when creating certificate "domain" or "iPv4"
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 To get certificates you use domain, IPv4 does not apply to certs. If you can connect to your server using https from LAN, make sure WAN is also working - can use a mobile phone on cellular network for this test. The next steps would be to get Alexa working.
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 yes it works, I have turned off wifi on my phone and I can connect to emby
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 On my alexa i open emby, it says emby here how can I help? I ask play music it says unauthorized, client needs to authorize
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 What does your https URL look like? You don't have to share your actual domain, a dummy entry is enough. Does Alexa need to be setup again for Emby after you've made these changes?
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 (edited) When I set it up in dynu it's blank.ddnsfree.com there is no http or https leading. When I type it in a browser it takes me to my router Edited April 7, 2024 by djerniehoule
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 It appears now, the alexa emby app is not connecting to my server... I disabled it, now when I do emby setup, server to control is blank....
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 What do you use to connect using a browser and phone app? https://blank.ddsnfree.com:8920 or https://blank.ddnsfree.com or something else? What does your Emby server dashboard show for LAN and WAN access? Now go back and check these: 2 hours ago, Q-Droid said: - You now have a cert installed and restarted Emby. - Can you connect to your server using https? - What ports are you using externally? Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 That's not https. Can you attach your Emby server log to this thread?
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 (edited) Like this? embyserver.txt Edited April 7, 2024 by djerniehoule 1
djerniehoule 23 Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 I can connect http but not https from my phone with wifi off
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Can you edit your post and remove that log then attach it as a file instead of pasting in the whole thing as a post? It looks like you haven't entered your external domain name in the Emby Network settings. Emby can't open the certificate file because it doesn't like the password. 26 minutes ago, djerniehoule said: 2024-04-07 10:13:00.681 Error App: Error loading cert from C:\ssl\emby.pfx *** Error Report *** Version: 4.8.3.0 Command line: C:\Users\erhou\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\EmbyServer.dll -noautorunwebapp Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10.0.22631 Framework: .NET 6.0.27 OS/Process: x64/x64 Runtime: C:/Users/erhou/AppData/Roaming/Emby-Server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 12 Data path: C:\Users\erhou\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata Application path: C:\Users\erhou\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system Internal.Cryptography.CryptoThrowHelper+WindowsCryptographicException: Internal.Cryptography.CryptoThrowHelper+WindowsCryptographicException: The specified network password is not correct.
