New picture in picture interface - progress bar

Recently there was an update to how the picture in picture looks and works.   First, it now displays a progress bar in the picture-in-picture window. If I try to resize the window using the bottom left or right corner, it will cause the progress bar to come either to the start or end of the video, completely losing my progress. So I can only resize using the top corners now. Also, the bar itself is distracting to see.   Can it be turned off in a setting somehow?

I think this may be browser related, as Brave has this change but Chrome still looks like it always used to.

Hi, yes this is browser related. The browser controls the picture in picture presentation.
