Subtitles repeating previous line at random (.srt)

Has anyone experienced this? I tried to search for similar reports, but couldn't find anything so I made this post.

While watching something with subtitles, once in a while, quite randomly, a line get repeated from the previous dialogue. If I rewind it and play the same part again, it works just perfectly. Note that this is not just one specific movie or subs. It happens on all of them, at random.

First I thought it was the browser, so I tested it with Chrome, Opera, Opera GX and even Edge, but it happens on all of them. I have not been able to force out the bug either. It just happens randomly, and not on the same place. However, I noticed that it only happens to .srt files and not to subs from .ass files.

I tried to look into settings on the server, but I can't figure it out. Does anyone know how to fix this? Not even sure if this is a client- or server-sided issue. I just can't figure it out and it annoys me like crazy.

Does the video time code look bad.  Does the media start with the wrong total inside the player.  Maybe the time code is corrupt and calling up the subtitles multiple times because the time code keeps hitting something like 35 seconds multiple times.  Video captured from some sources like a DVD, may not have a useable timecode.  If you remux the video in an encoder that probably will fix the media with a correct time code... Just a guess.

No, everything seem to be fine. If I play the media through a media player, like PotPlayer and VLC, the issue never happen. Not even once. This is why I thought it had to be the server or the browser I am streaming from. But I don't want to fiddle too much randomly and screw up the server as it is working fine, except for that annoying thing with the subtitles. Maybe something with transcoding? I don't dare to fiddle with it tho.
