But removed each Library from Library setup without issue.

Shutdown Emby and deleted the cameraupload.json

Started Emby and launch app and got worse but no sql error. Just more libraries.

The above deletes just fine from the UI.

But deleting libraries and upload json and toggling different folder options on the device eventually broke the created libraries and cannot remove.  Just get spinning circle as mentioned in other topics.  I believe it was Recent as that is the only one that appear to actually do anything. 

With just iphone or just hidden I never got upload to trigger.

Will keep testing on this portable as it has nothing on it.

But from what I have noticed if a camera library exists it does not go crazy creating others.  But I am only testing with one device if that makes a difference.

I can consistently get 6 libraries with one functional one starting from scratch.

5 with no content and 1 with content.

iPhone and Hidden folder do not appear to do anything and can only get upload to trigger with Recents folder checked.

 

Only testing was done with a iPhone.  Clean/New 4.9.0.12 portable with no other data.

Now deleting the cameraupload.json and restarting server and relaunching app did not create any additional libraries.

Deleting the broken libraries from UI and leaving good library did not present any issues with future uploads.  The issue appears to be with the first upload with nonexisting library.

 

Tested creating the Camerauploads library via api then launching app and everything worked as expected.

OK I think I see something here to help prevent it from happening.

@jbird32275workaround for now is simply to delete the extra libraries.

Testing on a clean beta 4.9.0.14 it only created one library in my test where previously it created at least 6 libraries.

Now the real issue of how to help users that cannot delete from the UI. @Luke

Is there an easy sql command to assist here?

Have had this issue today. ~280 camera upload libraries were created and I cannot delete them using the UI or the API due to timeouts. I believe my only option here to to manually remove them from the database.

 

What relationships should I be worried about when deleting the libraries?

What server version?

But you would have to all the items linked to the libraries so in the end you have to go through each table looking for id/itemid.

 

But will guess as previously mentioned new database it will not happen and existing database can still happen and need a dev to provide a proper method to fix an existing database.

A bit of a disaster honestly. I will have to study the database structure in order to find the best way to delete the libraries.

Okay yes as mentioned above a fix was put in 4.9.0.14.  But if I remember correctly only applies to clean installs.  Not a db person but poke around when things break.  Most of the info is shown above on 26 March post.  But am testing again to see if I can break the db again as I deleted all the previous broke db I had laying around.

No, it should prevent it from happening for everyone. And it was backported to 4.8, so it's in the stable channel as well.

I am and do have the plugin but just looked and it was misconfigured and not creating backups :(

I think what I will do is:
 

  1. create a new table in the database
  2. Copy the schema and data from MediaItems but on the foreign keys include the `on delete cascade` option
  3. delete the rows from the new table, which should then delete all relations in the database to those rows
  4. Delete the MediaItems table
  5. Rename the new table to MediaItems
  6. Cross fingers and start up server.

I will try this tomorrow and post back here if it works.

Make sure you have a backup even if it is a already broke db.  Might test on a 4.7 portable to as it should break as it does not have the fix.

I have 2200 folders in the library. Is there an easier way to delete the extra folders?
