Auto play next episode, operation?

The question is simple:
If auto play next episode is turned on and the playback was started from Next up (Next up legacy to be exact) on the Roku does this mean that the next episode in the series will be played or does it mean that the next episode from Next up legacy will play?

If the answer is the next episode from the same series will play then is there a way to make it be from Next Up legacy? I have an elderly (makes me feel young) friend that likes, as I do, to play a number of series in rotation but she does not want to have to press play to start the next up show.

I can see real value for her but I cannot really see the overall advantage for the vast majority of users.

I ask because I promised to but, for me, any answer is fine.

Yes i know I could test but i have discovered that my testing often does not yield the results the same tests yield for others so I just thought it would be good to ask, this time, instead of testing.

I firmly believe that the correct action is to play the next episode in the series that was first chosen but my friend is firmly convinced that the next "next up" episode should play. I hope I am correct, her "I told you so" vocalizations are almost painful. But she is a wonderful Mexican/Central American cook and I want to continue my invitations so giving her a correct answer is a near requirement.

On the Roku when auto play next episode is turned off it will play just that episode. It will not build a queue of all episodes from that point and onward and play that. Instead you will just get singular playback and be returned to the next episode showing on your next up after it refreshes. You will have to press play on the episode to play again with auto play next episode turned off. Then it will play the single episode return to next up and refresh next up and place you on the next item to play. But it will be on the next up if that is where you started from when playing. If you start from a detail screen it will end there after the episode plays back.

The auto play next episode is when you want to binge watch the series and many episodes are new. Or you just like to start in the middle of a season or something.

There is currently no method to play all the next up with different series episodes in the order they display in the row because that has never been asked before. Is that what you are asking? Hopefully I am phrase that correctly.

To do this right now you would have to go to the "Show More" button on the TV library continue watching row. Then once that hits the grid you can play them in order from first added and down through all different series new episodes. I've done this way before. You can use the Play All button the right side of the grid. It will start with newest first and move down through the list.

Thank you @speechlesThat is pretty much exactly what i thought and tried to explain to my friend. Maybe she will accept an "official" statement that agrees with what I have said. It is like getting the answer directly from the horse's mouth. (No offense intended at all) But, if you want, we can start calling you "Mr. Ed." :D;)

That is what I was asking but I actually do not want that. My friend does and this is the very first time I have heard that request as well. But, if you saw your way clear to implement it there could be many more great dinners for me. I could even wrangle an invite for you if you do that.
Is that an attempted bribe? If so then is the attempt likely to succeed? The only warning I would give is that she really likes the hottest peppers. (She often uses jalapenos to reduce the spiciness of her dishes) A few dishes are almost too hot for me.
