Try activating these two options. You need the Diagnostic plugin for this, you can activate it there. After that everything was working again for me. You have to set these options again after every restart. - Hope it helps you

this seems to fix the problem. Is there a way to activate it every reboot? Does activating this option have any negative impact?

Thanks

Glad to hear. I haven't found anything negative so far. Unfortunately, I don't know how it can be activated permanently! I was happy that I found the solution and am just waiting for a solution from the Dev Team.

@Arthessia You have to download the Diagnostic plugin.

After installation & restart you will get the Options

@Luke

HI Luke, is there anything new about this? It's quite annoying to activate the options every time you restart emby. And if you forget it, problems immediately arise. It would be great if there was a solution here soon.

Several threads before we asked for options to be moved to transcoding section,  especially 2 fpr gpu control, didn't happen, luke responded that we can use settings in xml file, after a month he disabled those settings in xml aslo.

Over a year we are writing about this and being completely ignored.

Oh dear, I already suspected that this would probably not be fixed quickly ...

Is there no one who can create a Python program that modifies these parameters? This way we can use it as an example. In the meantime, I have created a video macro that modifies the parameters every time Emby restarts.

Well the plugin setting are in the API so you could just send the post to reapply them.  And run a script every time you restart Emby.

Well I can say it is conditional as I transcode daily without issue.

I've also seen this happening for certain files - it seems that if it happens for one episode of a certain season, then it happens for that entire season. I tried remuxing without subtitles, but that doesn't work. Anyway, that and the Disable HLS Subtitles trick are not real solutions, since subs are often necessary. The only solution I've found is to re-encode the video and mux it with the subs from the original file.
