MarauderEMBY 17 Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Okay so I am doing some file and folder structure maintenance for my libraries and was curious. I scan my directories with TreeSize and RED (Remove Empty Directories) to see filetypes that should not be there and after that I scan with RED to see about deleting empty folders... Long story to a short question BUT... I decided to just go ahead and scan my Emby metadata and 'others' folder. I found a total of 370 empty directories... as shown in the attachment... Was wondering if it was going to be okay to delete them and vacuum the database afterwards for anyone who can answer that question... Sorry if this is duplicated, I did search for the topic and didn't find anything specifically about it.
Solution Luke 42080 Posted March 8, 2024 Solution Posted March 8, 2024 HI, yes, empty folders can be deleted. 1
Lessaj 467 Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 You should probably run the Scan Metadata Folder task after cleaning up the empty folders, just in case. 1
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Oh no I see over 52,000+ empty folders. But this is a really old install.
