automatic library update not working?

 how often does emby update the libraries? I have ticked "Enable real-time monitoring of folders" but when new files are added they never come in automatically, I always have to manually scan the library. Is there any way around this? it is above all in a folder where we upload files from matches via wingftp,

just like i wrote, when i add media to the folder emby doesn't update the content automatically? the process looks as follows: during a competition, someone films their competitor with a phone - then they click on a wingftp link for uploading - this places the filmed video in the folder that emby has in the library "own films and photos"  but for emby to add for movies in the library, I have to manually go in and click on update library. it would be nice if it was done automatically when new movies are added to the folder.
