Ah, I missed grouping when I scanned through it before. I wonder if that tag is hidden in some cases.

Will guess mp3tag is showing it mapped slightly different maybe ContentGroup?  As we have to remember it is what ffprobe sees.

Confirmed ContentGroup is what ffprobe is calling grouping.

Yes it is grouping.

Ok, can you remove grouping from the query so those tags don't show up?

From what query?

Ok so that's where my audiobook's all of the sudden got some tags.

I will standby using these tags for audiobook series tags.

Until I know if this is staying or will be removed.

Nice find 😀, though inconvenient for op.

Whatever query you are using in the app that's grabbing those tags. In a nutshell, can you fix this in a maintenance release?

So the question becomes can theme.mp3/trailer tags be ignored?

Ok, great. Can that be a quick follow up to the 4.8.3 maintenance release?

But I will bet only applies to new installs as existing imported info will require clearing the database.  Remove, scan, readd.

Appreciate the honesty, but that's really annoying. Code messes up my system and I'm screwed unless I start from scratch. That really sucks.

@Happy2PlayRegarding the deleted tags, I'm wondering if it's not that the tag was deleted, but the tag is no longer queried. Is there anyway that I can look at the metadata in mp3tag to find out which tag might be getting ignored now? I have a show that I know had the tag "deleted", but since the tag was on the show not any of the individual episodes, I'm not exactly sure what I could look at to check.

For shows/videos normally tags are written to the <tag> node (assuming written nfo) I guess if you really want to tag the actual video file you could but don't believe Luke has acknowledged all tags that are ready by Emby.

@Happy2Play I'm not using nfo's, so where would the tag be written for the show if I'm not using nfo's?

Only in the database for the item.

Ok, thanks. Guess I'm out of luck then.

So I just deleted EVERY theme.mp3 file and the errant tags disappeared. Then I re-downloaded the themes and even more showed up. So it appears that this will continue to happen as new theme.mp3's are added. Should there be an update to the movie themes plugin to prevent this?

@Luke When you fix this, will the fix work on existing installs?

Posted

Actually, it seems like a fix to the plug-in is mandatory. I can't find all the theme.mp3's that have the issues as one of the tags is simply, "J". And even when I delete the theme.mp3, it gets redownloaded and messes up the tags anyways.

@radeonAre you tracking this issue with the Movie Themes plug-in downloading themes.mp3 files that are showing up as tags in a Movie library?

Not knowing the source of the theme's it might be out of plugin devs control.

Yea, understand, but maybe the plugin could be programmed to automatically remove certain tags? At the moment I can't use the plugin at all because I can't get rid of the errant tags.

@radeon @Luke Can either of you fix this issue for existing installs? I can't use the plug-in anymore because of this issue.

@Happy2Playyea, that's half of it.

Has anyone seen tags getting deleted? I don't know how I show an example of something that's not there.

Yep. Had to move a couple of hundred files because 1 drive was nearly full. Lost about 5000 tags and all the metadata I had locked, unlocked and was like if had been refreshed overwriting all my metadata. Still trying to replace it all.

I have The same problem on Emby 4.8.10 and Nfo metadata 1.0.8. Tags are removed from all my movies and on my series I now have tags that I did not set/add.

Also all my strm files are missing the metadata like audio/video/subtitle stuff. Those where set/grabbed With the strm extract plug-in.

And when i add a tag to a serie, lock the labels and when there is a New episode added it is removing the LOCKED tag, But why and how!!

this just stupid, why is Emby breaking stuff over and over again? I feel a complete New install coming….. again! And again after Emby updates.
